Hide de Pelayo

Raptors on a High Altitude Stage

Hide de Pelayo is designed for the observation and photography of free-roaming raptors, located in one of the most spectacular locations in the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park. From here, you can observe species such as the Spanish imperial eagle, golden eagle, booted eagle, common buzzard, and goshawk, both in flight and perched.

The setting features three strategically placed perches, with different orientations and backgrounds, allowing for a wide variety of framing and lighting conditions. As a backdrop, the hide offers a stunning panoramic view of the natural park, with the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Cabeza, the Jándula River, and the Encinarejo Reservoir, creating an unparalleled photographic environment.

The perches are located at a distance of between 10 and 15 meters, which makes the use of lenses between 400 and 500 mm advisable. The hide features panoramic spyglass with a 270° viewing angle, allowing an uninterrupted view of the surroundings, ideal for capturing both birds in flight and their arrival at the perches undetected.
